Enabling Secure Research Data Sharing and Mass Uploads for CSIRO Data61
CSIRO Data61’s Robotics and Autonomous Systems Group (RASG) required a secure, standalone website and customer support portal to support the launch of Wildcat, a next-generation SLAM technology, through an Early Adopter Program. C9 designed a platform that enabled controlled access, ticket-based collaboration, and secure software distribution to protect sensitive technology while facilitating early industry engagement.
To address the challenge of handling large volumes of sensitive research data, C9 developed a bespoke ticketing and file management system supporting the controlled release of files to defined users. The solution features extensive Amazon S3 integration, enabling the bulk uploading of files greater than 2GB through automated data chunking in transit and validation for successful transfers.
With integrated notifications, support tracking, and robust permission controls, the platform streamlines interactions between early adopters and the RASG team. The result is an ironclad security posture and enhanced operational efficiency tailored to advanced robotics research initiatives.
The brief was to develop a bespoke ticketing, file management, and release system that allows the controlled release of sensitive files to defined users, incorporating advanced S3 integration for bulk uploads exceeding 2GB with data chunking and transfer validation.
Key Functionality
- Automated Notifications: System-generated alerts informing participants of ticket updates, software releases, and file availability.
- Support Ticket Tracking: Structured ticketing capabilities handling technical enquiries, file requests, and known issues.
Core Technologies
- Workflow Engine: Automated orchestration layer managing support ticketing, data releases, and approval chains.
- Secure Notification Layer: Multi-channel communication tools keeping early adopters aligned with project milestones and releases.
Project Outcomes & Impact
The delivered platform empowered CSIRO Data61 RASG to successfully launch the Wildcat Early Adopter Program with a secure, professional digital presence. By centralising engagement through a single support portal, automating massive file transfers via advanced S3 integration, and enforcing strict company-based access controls, the solution reduced administrative overhead, eliminated data-sharing friction, and protected critical intellectual property.
